Terms of Use & Privacy Policy

This website (the "Site") is provided to you by Community Learning Center (“CLC”). (Terms of Use & Privacy Policy last updated in January 2016.).

TERMS OF USE

1. Agreement
If you use the Site, you agree to these Terms of Use. We may change these Terms of Use at any time. If you keep using the Site, you agree to our changes.
If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, you must exit the Site.

2. What you may do
You may use the Site to:
·         learn about us;
·         participate with us; or
·         donate to us.

3. What you may not do
You may not:
·         use the Site for any other purpose; or
·         violate any law or anyone’s rights.

4. Online communication
You agree to receive any communications from us electronically (by e-mail or on the Site). You agree that all agreements, notices and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement of communications in writing.

5. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy (below) is made part of these Terms of Use. You agree to our Privacy Policy. Any personally identifiable information (like your name, address or phone number) that you provide us through the Site will be subject to our Privacy Policy.

6. Warranty disclaimer
THE SITE, AND ALL RELATED CONTENT AND SERVICES, ARE PROVIDED "AS IS." WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. Some states restrict disclaimers, so the this disclaimer may not apply to you.

You are fully responsible for any violation of these Terms of Use. You will be liable for, and indemnify us (and our affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents and contractors) against any claims, damages, losses, costs and expenses related to any violation of these Terms of Use.

WE, AND OUR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, AGENTS AND ANYONE ELSE INVOLVED IN CREATING OR PROVIDING THIS SITE, ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND RELATED TO THE SITE OR ITS USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Some states restrict limitations of liability, so this limitation may not apply to you.

Under all circumstances, these Terms of Use and your use of the Site are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The courts in Pennsylvania will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes related to these Terms of Use or the Site.

PRIVACY POLICY

1. The personal information that we collect
We may collect information from you when you contact or communicate with us; subscribe to our mailing list; donate, register for or participate in a class or event; use a partner fundraising application; or participate in another Site feature.

·         We may ask you for certain personally identifiable information ("PII") such as your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number or other information. You may, however, visit the Site without providing such information.

·         We may use IP addresses and other log file information to analyze trends, administer the Site, track user activities and understand user interests.

·         Like many websites, we may use "cookies" or third party website analysis services to learn about the use of and improve the Site. Please refer to the "cookies and analytics section below for information about how we may use cookies and analytics services.

Because there is not yet a common understanding of how to interpret web browser-based “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) signals other than cookies, we do not currently respond to undefined “DNT” signals to the Site.

2. Use of your personally identifiable Information
We may use PII in the following ways:
·         To personalize your Site experience;
·         To allow us to better service you; and
·         To administer a promotion, survey, mailing list or other Site feature.

3. Disclosure of PII to outside parties
We generally do not sell or transfer to outside parties your PII unless we provide you with prior notice. The term "outside parties" does not include our affiliates, website hosting partners or other parties who assist us in operating the Site, conducting our organization, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may, however, release your information to other parties when we believe release is appropriate to comply with relevant law, enforce the Site policies or protect people or property. Information that is not PII may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising or other uses.

4. Opting out and correcting or updating PII
You can opt out of receiving mailing list communications by clicking on the SafeUnsubscribe link in CLC’s updates and other e-mails or e-mailing us at . You can correct or update your PII by e-mailing us at .

5. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your web browser so that systems can  recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. We may use cookies to help us understand your preferences based on your Site activity. We also may use cookies to help us combine data about Site traffic and Site interaction.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies through your browser settings. If you turn cookies off, certain Site features or services may not function properly.

Third party service providers may help us understand Site visitors and improve the Site. These service providers are only allowed to use the PII they collect for us to help us conduct and improve our organization. For example, Google Analytics may analyze Site data and share its findings with CLC.  Google Analytics collects information on how often visitors come to the Site, what pages are visited, what other sites were visited and other similar information.

6. Protecting your PII
CLC follows generally accepted industry security standards to protect your PII. However, no commercial method of information transfer over the Internet or electronic data storage is known to be perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of PII when it is transferred to or stored in our systems.

We may include third party links on the Site. For example, online donations to CLC are processed by Network for Good’s server. These linked sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We have no responsibility or liability for the content or activities of these linked sites.

8. Online policy only
This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through the Site and not to information collected offline.

10. Important notices to non-United States residents
It is important to note that the Site is operated in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that any information you provide us will be transferred to the United States. By using the Site or providing us with your information, you agree to this transfer.

11. Children’s privacy
We do not try to collect PII from children under 13 years of age. If a child has provided us with PII, a parent or guardian of that child may send an e-mail message to CLC at  with “Request for Child Information Removal” on the subject line and the name and age of the child in the body of the message. Upon verification, we will remove the child’s PII from our applicable databases.
